Why NextWave Was Created
A Program Built With Purpose
NextWave Summer Academy was built from two things that have shaped my life — athletics and personal development.
I was a collegiate soccer player at San Francisco State University and later Point Loma Nazarene University, where I earned my master’s degree in Sports Management. Through those experiences, I learned firsthand how powerful sports can be in building confidence, discipline, and resilience.
But what stood out to me most wasn’t just playing — it was the impact of great coaching, structure, and environment.
That’s what led me to create NextWave.
I wanted to build a program that goes beyond just keeping kids active — one that is intentional, high-energy, and designed to help them grow. Every part of NextWave is built around competition, teamwork, and real challenges that push kids in a positive way.
The goal is simple: create an environment where kids feel supported, stay engaged, and build confidence they carry with them beyond the field.
